Getting ready to Eat, Pray, Pray, Pray, Pray,Pray, Love

To those of you who encouraged, supported, underwrote or otherwise spurred me on to visit Turkey, I want you to know IT'S HAPPENING!! On October 17, four of us women (we may invent aliases or new identities) join five couples to explore Istanbul, Cappadocia, Kotya then hop on a "gulet" to cruise up the Turquoise Coast to visit Ephesus, Cleopatra's Baths, and ancient, ancient ruins. I hear some of them are a bit like an Epcot "ANCIENTLAND. " The scope of history is incomprehensible,  the geography other-worldy (see the photo recently taken by our friend, Eileen, as she went ballooning over peoples's homes - they LIVE quite comfortably in these tufa towers), the language indecipherable and the convergence of cultures unimaginable. In the face of the Whirling Dervishes, I'm sure we'll NOT Keep Calm and Carry On.

Stracciatella (chocolate chip gelato) is easily burned off one step at a time.
