Broken ankle be damned!! The ancient Roman roads are smoother than Petaluma's potholes, the bridges are for walking (not traffic jams) and the reward is always some new vista of converging angles, buildings holding up other buildings and SILENCE. I think the sound of water is actually louder here in Lagrasse because there is not the chatter and clatter of modern life.
